The Lewis and Clark trip to the West Coast

The U.S. President Jefferson was very open minded. He had met the Great Six Tribes in person and seen for himself how they organized themselves. Jefferson also had a vision that would lead other to explore the West. He saw tribes, land, and a great river. Jefferson thought a Great River ran from Coast to Coast! He sent Lewis and Clark to find out and some guides the most prominent a Native American woman who saved their lives and acted as their Chief Translator. No river flowed from coast to coast but what they saw was pristine land and lots of it. They also saw the Pacific Ocean it all its glory.
They met the great tribes of Chief Joseph and other and many of them offered their hospitality. Later more about the woman guide and good stuff...... All this happened a little over 200 years ago.
